Jimy Bleu has been with WFDU for 3 years, hosting his show “Code Bleu,” featuring a mix of funk, blues, soul & rock with the roll. It’s the only weekly radio broadcast in any platform featuring interviews, comprehensive study & rare recordings of Sly Stone, James Brown & Jimi Hendrix each show.
Born and raised in New York City, Jimy has been a professional singer/musician since his Junior High School days. He was a student of Performing Arts high school & Berklee College of Music and a former Columbia/Def Jam recording artist.
Outside of the station, Jimy has been performing the only authentic Jimi Hendrix tribute show worldwide since 1968, starting as a member of Hendrix's official fan club at Warner/Reprise records. He also has backed-up and toured with such notaries as Aerosmith, Wilson Pickett, Slade, Betty Wright, J.Geils Band, Joe Tex, Foghat, Isaac Hayes, The Black Crowes, Al Green, Brook Benton, Shirley Caesar and Lonnie Youngblood to name a few.
