BIG APPLE COUNTRY IS BACK!

When you listen to "Big Apple Country" on WFDU, you will not be subjected to pop or rock music.  Commercial radio disguises these genres with a fiddle or a steel guitar and calls it country music!.

Mike will keeps country music purists entertained by combining western swing, Bakersfield, red dirt, honky-tonk, Tex-Mex, classic and anything else that feels like traditional country music.  Discerning country music fans are sure to enjoy this mix of great music.

Mike began listening to the music of the late 50s & early sixties at an early age, but over the years has gained an appetite for Big Band, Classic Rock, R&B, Jazz, Blues, Country, New Age, Indie, Folk, Bluegrass, Classical, and Broadway.

Mike's diverse musical taste served him well as former Music Director of Music America & current Music Director for the Blues at WFDU.  He has hosted a wide variety of music shows and has interviewed many prominent artists. Mike currently hosts "Big Apple Country" on WFDU, "Swing Time" at WDVR, and "The Swing Set" on Pure Jazz Radio.

LISTEN TO "BIG APPLE COUNTRY" Tuesdays between 4pm & 7pm on the internet at our website: wfdu.fm .  Shows are also archived for two weeks on the website.  You will also find WFDU on IHeart Radio, TuneIn Radio, ITunes, and many other iPhone & Android apps.
