Alt. Saturdays 9:00AM to 12:00PM Eastern Time
Evan Toth is the host of Good Music, which showcases the brilliance of the written song and the majesty of the timeless performance – both modern and classic – in an eclectic and exciting format. Evan thrives on diverse playlists and contextual curve balls; he is always ready to provide some adventurously good listening. He also enjoys sharing regional, and sometimes international, artists who are still under-the-radar.
Evan started his stint at the station serving as a copy editor, news and weatherman, host of The Front Porch and Crash on the Levee, and as a former university student of program director, Barry Sheffield. He knows what makes WFDU tick; the eclectic nature of the station has clearly influenced Good Music.
Some of Evan’s favorites are: The Beatles, Billy Joel, Jobim, Burt Bacharach, The Ventures, Chuck Berry, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Emmit Rhodes, The Pixies, The Zombies and many more. He is very attached to vinyl: “I believe that vinyl records are the best media to use on a good old radio program, I love that warm crackle!”
Outside of the station, Evan is a singer-songwriter and has dedicated the majority of his life to creating, performing, and listening to music with those nearest and dearest to him. In his bi-weekly position as host of Good Music on WFDU 89.1FM, he now shares some of his favorite music with the greater New York metropolitan area.
