Anything Goes

with Lise Avery

Anything Goes

Mondays 9:00AM to 1:00PM Eastern Time

Lise Avery began broadcasting her show, Anything Goes!!, from WFDU-FM in 1998, which features a fun, unpredictable mix of standards, jazz & classic pop with a bit of almost anything else. You’ll also hear classic comedy to cartoon theme songs and old, rare gems from classic artists.

Since Lise went on the air with Anything Goes!!, she has had the privilege of interviewing some remarkable people. And, because of the eclectic nature of Anything Goes!!, those guests have ranged from Sir James Galway to Davy Jones of the Monkees to songwriters Jimmy Webb and Mike Stoller and song and dance legend Tommy Tune.

Outside of the station, Lise is an accomplished singer and actress. She has performed in nightclubs, musicals and cabarets throughout the NY metro area and is currently working on a new album with the remarkable pianist Russ Kassoff. She is an avid scuba diver, animal lover and environmentalist and she loves hunting for treasures at flea markets and garage sales. Whenever she can she spends time at her cottage in rural Ontario, Canada with mismatched clothing and unruly hair.
Lise has a special way of turning a phrase or playing the tune that is sure to touch you, make you smile or stir a memory – it’s like listening to your favorite music with an old friend. You never know what to expect when you tune into Anything Goes!! But you can always expect great music, good fun and a good feeling.
Monday October 13th on Anything Goes!! Lise welcomes Dr. Eben Alexander

Dr. Alexander has been an academic neurosurgeon for the last twenty-five years, including fifteen years at the Brigham & Women’s and the Children’s Hospitals and Harvard Medical School in Boston.  In Proof of Heaven, neuroscientist Dr. Eben Alexander described his experiences while in a coma in 2008.  In the #1 New York Times Bestseller, he described his vivid journey. He read about near-death experiences and recognized the astonishing similarities between those stories and his own. Dr. Alexander then realized he, himself, had visited the afterlife, something that – as a doctor – flew in the face of what he formerly believed.
Dr. Alexander and his story have been featured on the cover of Newsweek, Oprah’s “Super Soul Sunday,” “Dr. Oz,” ABC’s “Nightline,” “20/20,” “Good Morning America. His new book is The Map of Heaven.
