Jack McElligott is the host of In Sight, an interview program dedicated to thought provoking discussions with thought provoking people. Many facets of culture will be explored including literature, history, art, theater, and contemporary affairs. Jack also tries to understand how the American experience fits into a world perspective.
Recent interviews have included Jonathan Alter on his book, The Defining Moment, FDR's Hundred Days and The Triumph of Hope and Robert Thurman on Why The Dalai Lama Matters: His Act of Truth as the Solution for China, Tibet and the World.
Jack comes to the world of radio from a former career as a Social Worker with a psychotherapy private practice. He spent 38 years working in the community and in an administrative capacity with a broad cross section of our demographic population on issues of mental health, addiction, elder abuse, employment and training, and advocacy. He has an MSSW from Columbia University, has taught seminars at Rutgers University and presented at numerous conferences on topics within these fields.
Outside of the station, Jack loves to travel and has many cultural interests that he brings to the show and thoroughly researches for each interview. Jack keeps in shape through jogging and bicycling and has run six marathons including three in NYC.
