Bill Shibilski’s radio career started in 1963 assisting the famed co-hosts, Tom Luciani and Joe Marchesani, of the legendary “Time Capsule Show” broadcasting from WFUV-FM in New York City. Subsequently, Bill Shibilski’s Polka Party was introduced to the Tri-State and New England area airwaves on November 28, 1964. The popularity of his broadcasts led to additional shows on WTHE (L.I., NY), WVOX (New Rochelle, NY) and WHBI (Newark, NJ).
To his credit, Bill was known for starting the trend of fundraiser marathons with his “Polka Marathon” shows which were done to help keep a college station afloat. He has also been Master of Ceremonies, appeared at festivals, concerts and “Black Tie” affairs and for over 20 years, he was the voice of the "Pulaski Day Parade" in NYC.
After a decade in retirement, Bill’s love of broadcast radio and polka music has brought him back! WFDU is now home to Bill Shibilski's Polka Party every Sunday evening from 6-7pm.
